In the 6th century BC, Lao Tzu said, “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” Now, maybe he was alluding to life experiences in general, but when you are contemplating a trip, sometimes it seems daunting — too hard to plan. The best way to go about it is just to start. Take one step at a time and soon, you’re on your way.
Hotwire is a good site for making hotel and car rental reservations. If you sign up with them to get email updates, they’re fantastic. I would recommend them if you’re looking for great prices on your travel accommodations. I have found them to be the cheapest. They offer 1 to 5 star hotel accommodations and you can get some real good prices on last minute reservations, also.
Travelzoo, my cheap cruise search engine, reported today that major airlines are battling it out to offer the lowest fares for holiday travel, in hopes of upping the traffic during this holiday season. It’s exactly as it sounds really, it’s a water bottle with a mini filter in it. Most of us at this point have a water filter of some sort at home or are at least familiar with them. For those that just wish to have something to carry around and use at home than this is not for you unless you are not using a filter of any kind. If you do have access to drinkable water at home, then the added filter in this is not needed and you would be better off with a general water bottle. The added filter can make the bottle a little bulky and clunky and if you can do without then don’t bother. Plus the speed at which the water pours will be a bit slower as the water is filtered.

Corpus Christi is just a short rental car drive from South Padre – and North Padre Island is right there. For $98 (plus taxes and fees of course,) I can be on a beach in a couple of hours!
